NoMad Restaurant & Hotel

My daughter and I celebrated her 21st birthday in the NoMad restaurant and rooftop bar. This is the second restaurant opened after the original from nyc. This trendy hotel is in downtown Los Angeles with a 50’s opulence décor. The crowd was a mix of chic film types and older adults. The cocktails were out of this world. We tried two; Vasa (vodka, aquavit, coconut, sherry, lemon and celery), and Army Navy ( gin, cream sherry, orgeat, lemon and angostura). There were 3 pages worth of specialty cocktails.
For dinner, we split a dish of Ricotta  Cavatelli, then Pan Seared Scallops and Poached Sea bass, finished off with Milk & Honey ice cream with oat shortbread and brittle. I have to say that the appetizer and dessert outshined the entrées, particularly the Milk & Honey.
Rooftop bar and pool had a panoramic view of the downtown LA skyline with fashionable servers wearing beach wear passing out blankets for the cold LA evening air. Overall, I’d recommend the place when you’re visiting Lalaland.
